New Life Baptist Church is a place to start again or for the first time.

Born again, get saved, become a Christian – these are all familiar phrases but what does it really take to go to heaven? If you are seeking the answer to this question then what you are searching for is a new life in the Lord Jesus Christ.

God Loves You

The Bible says in John 15:13, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” It has been the way in God’s mind since he formed the world and gave breath to mankind that his creation have a way to be reconciled to God. This comes from God’s exceedingly great love. God really is love.

Everyone Has Sinned

The Bible says in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” No matter how much we may deny our sin nature, our sinful tendencies, or our sinful actions, we are all sinners in one way or another. We all “come short of the glory of God.” God cannot fellowship with sinful man, so we have no way to come to Him. It’s as if we are dead to God. In fact, the Bible says so much in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death.” We are as the Bible says “dead in your trespasses and sin.” The hardest for an unbelieving person to do is to realize that they are spiritually dead – separated from God with no hope for reconciliation.

Christ Died For You

That would be a hopeless eternal state if we stopped with our simply being dead. Thankfully the Bible goes even further than simply defining God’s great love and man’s wicked sin. God demonstrated His great love in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God SO loved us that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ to die in our place. God took on the form of sinful man making Him subject to the sin nature of mankind and yet He lived His life perfectly without sinning. He was the fulfillment of every Old Testament prophecy and picture and is the example for the believer’s daily living.

Ask God to Save You

By faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross, ask God to forgive you of your sin, trusting Him to save you, and from this day forward purpose to live your life following Christ’s example. The Bible says in Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” The Bible says in Hebrews 12:3 that faith is “looking unto Jesus.” Look to Jesus and by faith receive the grace of God – the free gift offered through Jesus Christ’s payment for your sin. Pray and ask God to save you.
